Today, October 1st 2010, I have officially started my PhD. I met up with my supervisor, and then the work started from there. OK, if you can call it work. Today we did not discuss the project (ooops)…it was mainly administrative work…signing the contract, seeing what needs to be done, registering, getting a bank account, getting a library pass etc etc. I am grateful to another guy from the lab who showed me around and came with me to do a couple of things…at least he got a free goody bag when he came with me to get a bank account 😀
At 4pm I was told I could leave, so off I went home. However, earlier I had seen an email from the residence saying that I had a package received in the post…hmmm…I had no idea about it. So I went into reception to ask about it…HMMM…a package from AMAZON. I opened it and I saw…Gift: from Ann Fenech…weeee…my sister had sent me my bday present…it was 4 books: Eyewitness Travel: Dublin, Lonely Planet: Ireland, The Xenophobe’s Guide to the Irish and The Classic 1000 quick and easy recipes…WEEEEEEE…thank you Ann…a wonderful surprise 🙂 I just need to get to reading them now hihi. At the moment they are sitting pretty on my shelf…but will get to them, do not worry.
I have now cooked my first meal in the apartment (pasta with tomato sauce :D), and am surfing the net, and finding things to do. Hope someone special logs in tonight 🙂
